The Economic Development Steering Committee is a collaborative effort to formulate recommendations and potential action steps to the Town Council regarding Economic Development policies and strategies within the Town. Per Council's Resolution 2017-071, staff is to work with the Committee, which consists of two representatives from Town Council (non-voting), two members of the Planning Commission, one member of the Leesburg Economic Development Commission, two business and/or property owners within the Town, and two residents of the Town. This Steering Committee is tasked with accomplishing the following objectives:
- Review economic development policies and strategies Town-wide
- Solicit and receive stakeholder input on economic development policies and strategies
- Formulate their recommendations and actions for Town Council review
The Economic Development Steering Committee will meet Wednesdays over the next several months before presenting their recommendations to Town Council in October. It is anticipated that recommendations from the Committee will lead to potential changes to Chapter 8 of the Town Plan (Economic Development).

The Economic Development Steering Committee will meet on on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at Mason Enterprise Center, 202 Church Street, Leesburg, VA 20175.

*The trip to Greenville, South Carolina scheduled for Wednesday, September 27, 2017 has been cancelled. There will be a presentation related to the efforts of Greenville at a future meeting.
